Siberia, a vast and ancient land, is recognised as the birthplace of shamanism. Among the
Tungus people, the term "shaman" emerged to describe those who could access the spirit
world for the benefit of their communities. The practices of these early Siberian shamans
laid the foundation for what would become a worldwide phenomenon.
